IDK's "Peloton" Is The Perfect Song For Getting Over Your Toxic Ex

I'll be honest, IDK has never responded to any of my DMs begging for new music, but with the attitude he's brought into 2021, I'm starting to think it's likely that he's at least seen them. Since the start of the new year, the Maryland rapper has dropped three new singles, the newest one being "Peloton."

In addition to this, IDK recently took to Twitter to announce his forthcoming record USEE4YOURSELF. I know what you're thinking, and yes, the man did drop a mixtape last year. And another album the year before. Does he sleep? Who knows, but if we've learned anything from his new single "Peloton", it's that IDK has a serious knack for melodic bangers that are certain to see heavy summer play.

With an introduction inspired by the legendary "Int'l Players Anthem," IDK launches into "Peloton" head-first with unfathomable energy and skill. Sampling The Stylistics' 1973 banger "Payback Is A Dog," IDK playfully flexes on his ex while riding atop a bouncy vocal-heavy cut. The production from IDK, CashMoneyAP, and YoungKio is top-notch, as the mix for "Peloton" is carefully decorated with punchy snap sounds and thundering bass signals. IDK's signature writing is just as clever as ever, with him delivering lines like "Got hands on her knees when I'm giving her the business / This the Feel Good Inc., girl you moving with Gorillaz."

IDK definitely set expectations high with his last single, the Offset-assisted "SHOOT MY SHOT," but with the release of "Peloton," the rapper has fans eagerly awaiting the release of his forthcoming record. Thankfully, July 9 is just around the corner.
