Isabel LaRosa is a Promising Young Woman, and that’s not just because it's the title of her most recent EP, but it’s because she just had a major year. Having recently just co-wrote “Still” for Karol G and Bruno Mars, she also just joined Melanie Martinez’s Hades Tour. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s bringing her theatrical, enchanting, and must-see Dollparts tour to her fans in eight cities this October. 

LaRosa is also finding her voice by continuing her evolution as an artist with her new single “Don’t Make Them Like Me,” which is out not and is a must add for all of your playlists (we know it’s on ours). When you go to the OnesToWatch Instagram, it says “discover your next obsession," and this new single from Isabel LaRosa is exactly that.

While the rising dark-pop extraordinaire was just starting out, she was gearing up to release her debut album, Raven, at just 20 years old. Since then, she’s toured the world opening for Madison Beer’s locket tour, fell in love with whatever’s in the water in Paris, and created a world that pulls you in like a magnet. Listening to her music is kind of like you’re Alice, and you just found wonderland. 

On “Don’t Make Them Like Me,” LaRosa utilizes these soft spoken vocals with meandering guitar lines and subdivided percussive rhythms that keep you on the edge of your toes. Her voice on this single is so haunting it makes you think of a siren, calling you to your doom, but in this case your doom is actually awesome and it’s listening to more Isabel LaRosa so it’s okay. The subtlety of the echoes in not just the instrumentation, but the vocals, illustrate the world of an artist who is finding herself and doing it well.
