Jace Cameron’s “Easy” Is Whimsical and Luminous
Meet Jace Cameron, the Atlanta, GA-born and SoCal-based singer-songwriter, model, and influencer who may have released the most criminally slept-on album of 2024, with the sensational Sun Child. The project, featuring a host of vulnerable and imaginative queer pop anthems such as “American Car Ride,” “Mirage,” “Super 8” and the triumphant “Sky, Open For Us,” was designed to be consumed amid summer drives with the top down as opposed to sweaty club nights.
Built alongside longtime producer and collaborator Max Toth, Cameron’s sonic identity draws inspiration from artists like Joni Mitchell, Lana Del Rey, and David Bowie. These influences are canon for Cameron, as their impact on his artistry renders him as unafraid of divulging his hallmark feminine energies.
Cameron released a Sun Child deluxe in 2025, which included three new tracks, but quickly resumed work on new material. His latest single “Easy,” likely the first offering from a forthcoming project, is out now.
From its opening instrumental bars, “Easy” can only be described as expansive. Immediately placed into a luminous, dream-like vacuum, the listener quickly settles into a luscious bed of polished orchestrations, though is soon met with Cameron’s fluid, savory falsetto: “Hands on my beating heart/ Wish in my grasp, praying for something.”
Though he relishes in the immediacy and the spellbinding ties of infatuation, Cameron is experiencing feelings of disconnection from his subject. His sensible approach to the exchange, as displayed in his airy vocals, is tender and unaggressive, but poetically candid. Simply seeking to “make it easy,” he divulges the lengths he would go to secure reciprocated affection: “Jump in the open blue/ Follow your lead, follow you nowhere/ Stuck in a dream with you/ Dying to be lucid, go there.”
That airiness holds steady until two-thirds of the way through, when Cameron allows himself to unveil a richer, audacious facet of his voice. This tone can be found on a song like “Sky, Open For Us,” and, even when drenched in reverb and additional production affiliates, is a glimpse into the full prowess Cameron possesses as a vocalist.
