Jane Remover and funeral Link Up for the Explosive "Supernova"

Jane Remover just doesn't rest, man. A month after the surprise release of their album Revengeseekerz, the trailblazing genre-defying phenom has released their latest single, "Supernova," featuring North Carolina rapper funeral. The previously CD-only track features high-octane sonics that take the listener on an interstellar joyride through a universe drenched in visceral sound effects and addictive beats.

The track starts on a mellow, unassuming note, but the peace is soon disturbed by the piercing sound of glass shattering. Jane dives into the hook, setting the tone with the lines, "Pretty girl dance for my video / I might rent a pretty girl to stand for my video / Uh, I'm just waiting for this bitch to go / My camera aimed / Told 'em that we blow up, supernova." In the verses, they call out people for copying their style and the lengths they'll go to to blow up online. They reflect on the price of fame, delivering poignant lines like " Dreams became fleeting so I carved in stone (Allez, allez) / I-I was wishing on a shooting star and chewin' on a wishbone," over the chaotic, multilayered production.

funeral's verse fits seamlessly into the adrenaline-infused soundscapes. He uses his time to acknowledge his own toxicity and the toxicity around him, rapping his frustrations into the ether, hoping to escape a relationship that he feels is holding him down.

The new single follows the explosive release of the artist's latest album, Revengeseekerz. It marked their second album of the year, following their record Ghostholding, under their alias Venturing. Although Revengeseekerz's sound contains elements of rage and EDM, the production style is uniquely Jane, with a multitude of samples referencing video games like Pokémon, Mario, and Fortnite. Producer and rapper Danny Brown, who previously featured alongside Jane on the Frost Children's song "Shake It Like A [Jane Remover Remix]," guests, making it Jane's first collaboration on an album track.
