Jazzie Young Welcomes the Uncertainty of New Love in Latest Single “It Could Be Good”

Indie pop singer Jazzie Young has spent 2025 teasing her debut album, Everything Changes, which is set for release in August. Fans eagerly accepted her first three singles of the year, “Waiting On You,” “Miss You Already,” and “Mr. Casual.” Young is continuing to feed her fans’ appetite for new music with the fourth and final single, “It Could Be Good.” Young is known for her open, narrative lyrics, and “It Could Be Good” is no exception, as she lays out all the feelings surrounding the exciting unknowns of a new attraction.

Opening with a dreamy instrumentation featuring synths and steady, animated drums, the tone of the song is clear even before Young’s airy vocals join the fray. The hazy anything could happen feelings of early attraction found in the instrumentation are only made clearer by Young’s lyrics as she sings “Maybe we’re lying but if it’s sound / Take me under ‘til I’m strung out / Oh damn / It could be good.”

All the excitement and emotions of new attraction come to a crescendo at the end of the song. The drums featured throughout the song continue to provide a steady beat under a set of layered vocals. Young repeatedly sings “I waited / You fell out / I wonder if you know how” and occasionally the final lyrics of the chorus, “It could be good,” float above it all. The combination of drums and layered vocals could’ve easily resulted in chaos, but rather they perfectly capture the all encompassing range of feelings that come with new attraction: excitement, giddiness, and maybe even a touch of fear towards the unknown.
