JELEEL! Gets 'REAL RAW!' in Explosive Debut Album

At this point in time, you have to be aware of the breakout, action-figure-built, larger-than-life spectacle that is JELEEL!. He is a Jedi, keeping alive a special brew of music from a now-distant SoundCloud Era. The Los Aneles-Based artist doubles as a human trebuchet at his infamous live shows, launching himself and fans in the crowd with the velocity of something designed by NASA. Though still fairly in its incipiency, all of these epithets have simply separated JELEEL!’s career and consequential come-up from his contemporaries.

Last Friday, JELEEL! released his highly-anticipated debut album REAL RAW! by way of 10K projects. True to the project's essence, the record sounds like self-immolation, a unique form of controlled chaos. Featuring some stellar collaborations from Denzel Curry, Chow Lee, and Ty Dolla $ign, REAL RAW! displays JELEEL!’s growth as both a performer and songwriter.

Standout track "FEELS GOOD!" is destined to soundtrack your summer night, unapologetically imbibing in blunts and booze into the early morning hours. Another standout record is "CONFETTI!," which includes a stellar feature from up-and-coming NYC rapper and drill artist Chow Lee. Cleverly blending a golden age hip-hop beat with elements of drill and a Rick Flair wooooo."

As you get halfway through REAL RAW!, you’ll come to realize JELEEL! possesses an incredible amount of depth and substance, the ability to hop on a kaleidoscope of different sounds notwithstanding. Not to mention, the tracklist on this project is wonderful, with no one sound or flavor overstaying its welcome, instead arriving as a brilliant showcasing of JELEEL!'s varied, explorative, and rapturous brand of hip-hop.
