Kristiane Breaks Cycles in Bittersweet Tune “Beacon”

With melancholy indie pop as her canvas, poignant singer-songwriter Kristiane paints a vivid picture of self analysis in new single “Beacon." A follow up to March’s hopeful tune “Good & Ready," in this new single Kristiane is ready to look inward and get to the source of her burnout. “Beacon” is just that – a guiding light of awareness no matter how deep you’re involved in toxic dynamics. Kristiane’s lyrics are poetry set to a perfect coming-of-age sonic world, leaving the perfect amount unsaid to emphasize how simple phrases can mean the world.

“Beacon” started from a phase of writer’s block, broken by the striking lyrical breakthrough “I’m a beacon / I’m on fire”. From there, Kristiane says “everything clicked. The song ultimately reflects the frustration of making the same bets over and over, knowing they might not pay off, but still doing it because there’s something left unsaid, something still worth chasing.” Being self-aware can be depressing and “Beacon” captures that lingering sadness. From its wistful production and Kristiane’s signature vocal performance, she comes to terms with her own burnout and its causes.

Kristiane’s artistry is honest and comforting, creating a world that makes the hard emotions a little easier to face. “Beacon” was born from catharsis and now listeners can find solace in its 90’s rock inspired bittersweet world. We can’t wait to let it soundtrack all of our inner monologues and keep up with what’s next for Kristiane.
