LA-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visual artist GYYPS returns with his newest single "Careless," releasing alongside its own eclectic visual. Whether you know him from the success of his classic EP Canoga Park or from his work with Felly on "Slim Jawn" earlier this year, "Careless" is an incredibly strong track that will certainly keep GYYPS on your radar for the foreseeable future. Providing fans with his signature blend of hip-hop and R&B, GYYPS' newest release sees the young artist taking risks and incorporating latin and dancehall styles into his repertoire. The result? An upbeat and energetic banger that is certain to be an instant-add to your weekly rotation.

Though "Careless" may initially sound fairly laid-back, at first delivering fans ethereal guitar riffs with rhythmic percussion - true fans of GYYPS understand that his affinity for production means that there are certain to be stylistic curveballs at any given moment. The track quickly explodes  into a latin-inspired hip-hop banger with percussion that carries elements of both modern hip-hop and classic dancehall music. Over thunderous bass signals and mechanical hi-hat rolls, GYYPS's vocal performance is casually effortless as he sounds like the spiritual offspring of Swae Lee and Mac Miller. His talent does not come without candor, however, as the earnestness embedded within his writing results in a track that meaningfully reflects on the artist's past and his certainly promising future. As an independent artist raised in a harsh environment, GYYPS carries an uncommon wisdom that simultaneously promotes responsibility while fostering a carefree and spirited perspective. GYYPS notes that "Careless" is "about self-love and growth", and given how his evolution has benefitted him over the past few years - perhaps his advice is worth taking.

"Careless" is a masterfully-produced track that sees GYYPS synthesizing his seasoned vocal ability with his technical talent and natural desire to take risks. GYYPS's perseverance from his upbringing to the star he is today is an inspiring tale to be sure, and luckily the lessons he's learned frequently make their way into the stories his music tells.
