Lambrini Girls Tear the Mask Off Fame With “Cult of Celebrity”

British punks Lambrini Girls are back and they are not fucking around. “Cult of Celebrity” hits like a Molotov cocktail to the face of fame, smashing any illusions that celebrity is glamorous. Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez do not bother with subtlety. From the first jagged guitar lick, you’re dragged through private jets, diamonds, exclusive clubs, and the secrets the elite hope you’ll never see.

“Welcome to the cult of celebrity,” Lunny snarls, and suddenly the track feels less like a warning and more like a full-blown indictment. The lyrics sugarcoat nothing, painting images of life draining from your eyes for a million-dollar smile, teens disappearing, and the velvet rope hiding horrors the tabloids whisper about but rarely name. The band reference Harvey Weinstein and the young women lost along the way without flinching, blending horror and rhythm into a cocktail that is terrifying, addictive, and impossible to ignore.

Musically, it’s classic Lambrini Girls chaos: guitars shredding like broken glass, bass lines punching like they’ve got a grudge, and drums propelling the track like a runaway train. Venom-laced hooks hit hard, especially lines like, “The devil’s on your shoulder with one hell of an offer” looping in your brain like the endless scroll of celebrity gossip you know you shouldn’t click but do anyway.

By the outro, with its blood-red curtain and whispered complicity, the track becomes a mirror of obsession, asking why we keep staring even when we know the truth. Speaking about the track, Lambrini Girls share, “The age old tale, of selling your soul to the devil has been fabled accounts of high society for years. However, due to recent events come to light- it turns out that the elite are very much actually, the devil incarnate, baby eating, pedos. What a fucking surprise! They had no souls to sell in the first place.”

The accompanying music video, directed by Harv Frost, is a devilish visual features the duo with black bars affixed to their eyes and a sinister. As the pair are shown in a variety of dark and foreboding settings, a mysterious, devil-like figure appears around them, getting closer and closer as the song rages on.

In a few weeks, Lambrini Girls will make their Coachella debut before embarking on a North American tour throughout the spring. Along the way, the pair will grace the stage at major festivals like Primavera Sound and Bonnaroo in June 2026.
