Love You Later Returns With Gut-Wrenching New Single “Mouth To Mouth”

One of our favorite rising popstars is back with her first single since her 2023 debut EP From The Window Seat. If you don’t know Love You Later, prepare to fall head first for her signature dazzling pop sound, always accompanied by a plethora of melancholy catharsis. “Mouth To Mouth” is the perfect sad bop to get you through fall, leading to a more complete Love You Later project to come. Lexi is an artist who takes her time, and it shows in the music’s detailed production and her always brutally honest penmanship.

“Mouth To Mouth” is a classic retracing of romantic steps, a tale of finding your way back to that person who feels nostalgic and safe. It’s optimistic at the surface, but through the emotionally charged lyrical delivery, it’s clear this attempt will be the last. Love You Later lyrics have a flair for the metaphoric and in “Mouth To Mouth” she describes the comfortability as, “Trapped in your orbit / Complicit distortion”. The chorus is epic and freeing, as she sings with a sense of letting go. It’s a last ditch effort that everyone knows is useless, and because of this acceptance, there’s not much harm in trying “Mouth To Mouth” one last time. In order to properly accompany Love You Later’s strong lyricism, the track’s production is lush and ethereal, but heavy in the drums to represent the everpresent sadness in the situation.

The bridge showcases Love You Later’s gorgeous, smooth vocal delivery and brings the emotions to a head – rising to the occasion of one last chorus, leaving listeners with a sense of acceptance, lingering melancholy, and a melody that will circle their heads for the rest of the day. That’s the beauty of a songwriter like Lexi, no matter how different the song sounds or the subject matter, there’s always an instantly addicting melody to sink your teeth into for the foreseeable future.

Lexi describes the track as, "the push and pull, trying every last thing to keep the spark alive - kinda like giving the relationship CPR, holding onto that one ounce of hope you might have left." We’re so excited about this new era of Love You Later and can’t wait to see how the journey unfolds. Listen to “Mouth To Mouth” now:
