Luna Luna Blends Latin Rhythms with Synthpop Ambience In “Sola Esta”

Luna Luna’s newest single, “Sola Esta,” is a bright and catchy track that keeps listeners moving and grooving throughout. The Colombian-American singer-songwriter saturates Latin-inspired timbres into colorful dreamy pop to create his signature fusion of genres. The track comes as the lead single to Luna Luna’s upcoming project, For Siempre, Pt. 2, and acts as a continuation of the themes of his 2025 EP, For Siempre, Pt.1.

The track starts off with a shimmery, plucked guitar sound and a classic drum groove that instantly gets listeners moving their bodies. When the synths come in, they feel velvety and rich, adding texture and depth to the intro melody. Luna Luna’s crooning vocals add a new layer of dreamy warmth to the song, his tone smooth and resonant. The drive of the gritty, pulsating bass provides contrast to the soft pads and light hi-hats that ring throughout the track’s two-and-a-half-minute runtime, and every so often the bass and drums lift to give the listener a floaty, ambient feeling before a new section of the song begins.

Although “Sola Esta” sounds upbeat and dancy, the lyrics explore themes of loneliness buried beneath a cheerful façade. The duality of these emotions is what makes Luna Luna’s work so compelling, as he is able to blend these feelings together into a uniquely human experience by contrasting vulnerable lyrical content with optimistic, synth-based production. Luna Luna embarks on his For Siempre tour next month, and he is definitely one to watch.
