Maeta Reaches New Heights in Kaytranada-Produced EP 'Endless Night'

This week, rising R&B star Maeta finally returns with Endless Night—the long-awaited follow-up to her 2023 EP When I Hear Your Name. Joined by Kaytranada, the two waste no time soundtracking our summer with atmospheric bangers perfect for your next night out.

Endless Night is nothing if not a masterclass in stylistic new-age soul that blends elements from R&B and electronic music to create something entirely unique. A few of the record’s tracks sport additional writing and vocals from the legendary James Fauntleroy, including “New Lover” which opens with the chilling lyrics, “I don’t believe in superstition / Oh but you’re in luck / Oh lover I made room lover / It’s just enough.” From the seductive grooves of “Turn Me On,” to the electric and cathartic highs of the album single “DJ Got Me,” Maeta once again puts the summer on her back and delivers one of the strongest records released this year.

Though only seven tracks long, there are so many high points on Endless Night that it almost feels exhausting to even attempt to list them all. Maeta’s singing and songwriting reach new heights at every turn, working in tandem to once again establish her as one of R&B’s most talented modern acts. Above all, Endless Night feels like a personalized love letter to Maeta’s fans, synthesizing the energy of fan favorites like “Questions” and “ASMR” while pushing her own sonic boundaries forward. It’s quite literally impossible to listen to Endless Night standing still, and after one listen, I’m sure you’ll see what I mean.

“I’m so excited for this project to be out," shares Maeta. "I just want everyone to have fun, dance, and be free this summer!”
