May-A Brings All the Good Vibes on "Time I Love to Waste"

MAY-A, Australia's latest up-and-coming songstress has released her newest single, "Time I Love To Waste." This tune will resonate with you if you have ever dated someone who you thought was out of your league, or someone whose attention you desperately crave. Having written music since the age of 12, MAY-A manages to tell vivid stories while conforming her lyrics into a catchy and poetic phrase structure. To top it off, a perfectly crafted and upbeat indie-pop production provides the perfect backdrop to her longing lyrics. Reverberant guitars mix with a punchy bassline and driving drums. From top to bottom, "Time I Love to Waste" is packed with a fun groove and optimistic vibes.

On writing ''Time I Love To Waste,' MAY-A shares, "This song was written on the same day as 'Apricots' in the space of 3 hours and is about the same girl." Recounting their day together - from the cafe they visited to the green Lacoste sweater her crush wore - MAY-A describes every moment in vivid detail. "I was sure she liked me when I was writing it," she continues, "but I'd personally never been interested in someone the way that I was into her. I was completely enamored. I wanted to give her everything that she wanted, and I truly felt like she was completely out of my league."

While the northern hemisphere is in the midst of an especially frigid winter, the good people of Australia are enjoying their summer months, and MAY-A has taken full opportunity of the great weather. In the video, MAY-A and her friends embody the words young, wild, and free perfectly as they can be seen cruising in their Jeep, top-down, singing and goofing around. Personally, jealousy is an emotion that comes to mind as well; the sun is shining bright, and people can enjoy each other's company because Australia has COVID under control. As we approach warmer weather here in the States as well, "Time I Love to Waste" is definitely one to have on your good vibes playlist.
