Meet Bella Litsa, An Enchanting Star on the Horizon

There’s nothing like randomly deciding to press play on a new artist and being completely swept away from first listen. Anyone who’s lucky enough to stumble upon Bella Litsa this early in her journey will not forget where they were when they first heard her enchanting new single, “1117.” Bella Litsa is a Greek/American artist living in Brooklyn who’s released a few singles in the past few years, but in 2025 has completely honed in on her hauntingly stripped-back sound. Immediately reminiscent of artists like Weyes Blood and Fiona Apple, the way Bella Litsa’s vocals possess the ears is a once-in-a-lifetime artist discovery for fans of ethereal, dark pop and David Lynch’s filmography.

The woman behind the music, art-pop artist Isabella Komodromos, shares that “Bella Litsa is my sadness personified. It feels like the closest I can get to my shadow, consciously.” The music fits this description almost too well, leaving listeners with an echo of impact from just one listen. “1117” immediately invites you in, beginning with a striking arpeggiating piano and Litsa’s bellowing, yet dainty, vocal performance as she proclaims “I’ve got soul ties to Aphrodite / I bled where she first lay her step.” The blend of vintage sound with forward-thinking textures is beyond captivating, especially when paired with the simple, yet eerie music video.

As your ears become accustomed to the lush piano and her memorable voice, the soft shape in the distance becomes clearer and clearer until Bella Litsa appears, contrasting the vacant, dark background with an angelic white dress and blonde wig. The music video for “1117” is almost inseparable from the song itself, putting you in a trance akin to the mystifying experience of watching Twin Peaks for the first time. As the music continues, Bella Litsa dances and twirls, floating through the darkness before collapsing to her hands and knees as the song ends with her heavenly vocal runs.

There’s no denying that Bella Litsa is One To Watch, she had our attention from the very first moment. We can’t wait to follow along in her journey of witchy vocals and thought-provoking visuals, starting with having “1117” on repeat.
