On the inspiration for “wrong place, wrong timing”, vera shares, “Sometimes neither partner does anything wrong and you’re stuck with this gut-feeling that maybe you’re on two different paths. Sonically, I wanted the song to feel as if you were sitting right next to that person while in real-time having the spiraling realization—even though you love them—it’s already over." The emptiness is felt from every aspect of the track, from vera’s performance to the subtle sadness through the beautiful production and captivating melodies. Cinematic drums pick up towards the end, but then subdue to make room for the delicately somber outro, ending on a note of regretful acceptance.
