All hail Princess Nessa Barrett! The alt-pop darling is finally here to kickstart a new era with the release of her highly anticipated and heavily teased single, "PASSENGER PRINCESS," and it's a whole-ass mood. Sultry and steamy, the new track marks the singer's first music release of 2024 and serves as the first taste of her sophomore album, Aftercare, which is expected to be released later this year.

Starting with dark yet summery instrumentals perfect for the opening credits of a lovelorn romance, Barrett proclaims her loyalty to her lover, promising to always ride shotgun into the sunset with him. Her passionate delivery of lines like, "Flashing lights / Put it into drive / Up and down my thighs / I'm your favorite fantasy," and the glistening synths amid moody guitar riffs and bass grooves, only add to the captivating and steamy track. This leads to a thrilling, heart-racing chorus in which she reaffirms her commitment, even to the point of sacrificing for her lover.

"'Passenger Princess' represents the intense honeymoon phase when you first enter in a new relationship," Barrett shared in a statement. "The mindset where you would do anything for the one you love just to experience the passion of a connection."

Aside from releasing new music, the alt-pop artist has been busy in recent months. She joined the ICONIC Lana Del Rey on stage at Hangout Festival earlier this summer to perform her 2023 single "american jesus." Barrett will also appear at Yungblud's inaugural BludFest on August 11 at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
