Nolan Garrett Gets Existential  in "The Camel" [Premiere]

Nolan Garrett has always been a curious fella. Shortly after his high school graduation, Garrett parted ways with Washington to explore Liverpool's great offerings. Though he grew up listening to the blues, Garrett discovered an intriguing DIY approach that allowed him to write some of his dreamiest tracks. Ahead of his forthcoming  Every Year EP, Garrett is gifting us a bittersweet tune titled "The Camel."

Inspired by one of the most profound philosophers, Nietzche, "The Camel" is all about someone who is willing to bear life's burdens without hesitation. Instrumentally, Garrett takes us on a sonic journey through woozy synths and the purest vocals. The accompanying visual features warm-toned oil paintings beneath the song's moving lyrics.

On "The Camel," Nolan Garrett exclusively shared with us,

“Lyrically a lot of [my] songs are inspired by different philosophers, especially Nietzsche, from whom the concept of 'The Camel' actually comes from. Sonically, I wanted to make something that was lush and cinematic and colorful harmonically. I was really trying to expand my palate of sounds and push myself with the way I went about structuring the songs. In particular with 'The Camel,' I was really trying to go out of the box with how the song progressed and it had a lot of different renditions before the final.”
