SG Lewis Partners With Robyn and Channel Tres For Hypnotic Dance Track "Impact"

SG Lewis is on a roll. After the 2019 release of his Dawn EP (which featured appearances from Clairo and Honne), and the electropop banger "Chemicals" in early 2020, the UK producer and artist is back with another definite hit.

In gearing up for his debut album this year, Lewis has enlisted the help of pop superstar Robyn and rising hip-hop house artist Channel Tres on a new single, "Impact." The single sees SG Lewis lean into his role as producer, with the help of friend and collaborator Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. The result is a dancefloor-ready, disco-tinged earworm.

Robyn lends her soaring vocals to the chorus of the track, which is grounded by the low hum of Channel's voice. Their vocals dance around the beat as they chant, "I put my guard up on you, you know that I’m the shit / Spill drink all up on it, you know I’m with the shits."

The unexpected lineup on "Impact" feels inexplicably natural. Robyn, a seasoned pop veteran, fits seamlessly between Channel's incantations and Lewis' electronic production. Speaking further on the collaboration in a press release, Lewis says, "The chemistry between Channel and Robyn is so powerful, and creates something so unique. Channel is an artist I believe will go on to create a musical legacy as important as the one Robyn has already created, and to have the two of them on this record together is insane."

"Impact" was preceded by SG Lewis' remix of Channel Tres's "Sexy Justin Timberlake" and Robyn's Honey tour with Channel Tres as a supporting act.
