she's green Lose Themselves in a Distant Dream in "graze"

You may not have heard of she’s green, but soon enough you’ll be hearing them everywhere. The band released their debut EP, Wisteria, in 2023 and spent 2024 playing shows. Now, they are starting 2025 off strong with their new single “Graze,” released to celebrate their signing to New York City’s Photo Finish records.

“Graze” opens with warped, layered guitars. Lead singer Zofia Smith’s soft voice comes in, floating atop the distorted instrumentals, giving the song a dreamlike feel.

“This song is about feeling trapped in a distant memory and longing to find a way out,” she’s green says about “Graze.” “The only way to escape seems to be facing it head-on and finally getting the release you need.”

she’s green faces their memory head-on with pounding drums and electric guitar as the song comes to its conclusion. Smith sings, “Out of dust and debris / Swallowed by / The ghosts that haunt me,” but in the final moments she instead sings “Followed by / The ghosts that haunt.” The ghosts no longer consume and a much-needed release has been found.

The accompanying music video for “Graze” features shots of a forest and a stream, overlayed with shots of Smith frolicking in the same forest. The overlaying images and shots of the sun sparkling on the water of the stream complement the dreamlike sound of the beginning of the song. When the drums are added as the song builds, the video reflects the sonic change, with the overlays becoming muddled, and flashes of sunlight filling up the screen entirely.

2025 is set to be a jam-packed year for she’s green. They will be opening for Glixen, marking the band’s first-ever North American tour. They will also be making their debut at San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival in February and Seattle's Freakout Weekender in March. Now is the perfect time to get in on the ground floor for this up-and-coming indie ensemble.
