Silver Sphere Makes a Shimmering and Stunning Debut With 'all my boyfriends'

Silver Sphere makes music to laugh, cry, and dance to, all in one night. Her sound can only be described as (in her own words) "both earthly and raw and out of this world."

After releasing a smattering of singles in 2018 and a 2019 album on distribution label Human ReSources, the Chicago-bred singer is back with her major label debut, a stunning five-song EP titled all my boyfriends, released via Little Worry / RCA Records. The project is colored in themes of heartbreak and hope, accompanied by the atmospheric tones of synths and subtle vocal layering.

The highlight of the EP comes in the form of opening track "ghosts!" The three-minute song sees Silver get brutally honest about getting over an ex. One of the most compelling points of the song is the bright, bouncing beat, which was produced by Canadian producer Stint (Demi Lovato, Gallant, Sabrina Claudio).

"crowd," which she released in July as a lead single, has emerged as a standout cut, raking in over a million streams in a matter of months. With lines like, "I looked for you in every single crowd," "crowd" lays bare the wistful musings of a hopeless romantic.

Silver Sphere's unique brand of electronic-adjacent pop accompanied by her romantic candor creates a sound that is hard to turn away from. Be it in "disappear," where she sings, "Don't know if I can just be your friend," or in "handle me," which is about an ex who felt threatened by the magnitude of her ambitions, the EP reflects a universalism in all of our past relationships. In 16 succinct minutes, all my boyfriends establishes Silver Sphere as an artist to watch.
