Sophia Galaté Steps Into the Spotlight With 'SOFIA'

After years of helping guide the creative careers of others, LA-based singer Sophia Galaté is ready for her moment in the spotlight. SOFIA, the debut EP from Galaté, is available now.

A California native, Galaté has been singing and performing since she was a child. Listening to the likes of Frank Sinatra and Motown with her parents as a child, she developed an early love for music. After graduating high school, she moved to Chicago to study music. When she returned to Los Angeles after college, she decided to work on the business side of the music industry while she searched for the confidence to pursue her artist dreams. During this time, she worked at a talent agency and even co-founded an artist management agency called Nucleus. Despite battling normal feelings of doubt and uncertainty, her passion for starting her own music career never faltered. After a few years, she decided to fully jump in and that brings us to SOFIA.

Earlier this year, Galaté released her debut single "Body," a sultry R&B jam about knowing how to love yourself. Her latest single, "Love Me," is an instruction manual on how she wants to be treated. It also serves as the opening song of the project and embodies the jazz-infused sound of the overall project. SOFIA is a blend of Galaté's biggest genre influences, R&B, Jazz, and Soul. Songs like "Chicago" with Gene Noble and "Intimate Feeling" showcase Galaté's prowess to combine traditional jazz elements with contemporary R&B and Soul in a unique way. SOFIA is the perfect soundtrack to a cozy winter night in the house.

Galaté definitely made the right decision to step out of the background and into the spotlight because SOFIA is a great debut for the emerging singer. We look forward to listening to how she infuses her love of jazz with more contemporary tempos and sounds. She's one to look out for in 2022.
