Tempest and Amindi Head to the Wild West in "The Ranch"
Smooth and scrumptious, Long Beach native Tempest marks her alt R&B territory with “The Ranch,” featuring fellow it girl Amindi.
The self-produced title track to her upcoming debut EP, “The Ranch” is a seemingly effortless flex as Tempest sexifies nonchalance. She doesn’t belong to her lover, nor does her lover belong to her, but you best believe he’s on call. Lines like “That’s not my baby and I’m not his either / It’s just a pain reliever” anchor the track, as Tempest galavants with all the power in between her acrylics.
With the Abdi Ibrahim-directed video set in a hot girl Wild West, Tempest and Amindi go verse for verse while stunning in palpable confidence and the boldness of their youth. They both are exactly who they think they are, two of the new alternative R&B generation’s most coveted names. Riding the cowgirl reclamation wave, they’ve infused it with their own charisma to innovate something totally new, as Black girls most notably do.
A West Coast sound that infuses influences from her father’s DJ roots from the Bronx, "The Ranch" is set to solidify Tempest’s rightful place on the map. She’s an eclectic songstress with no fear of being herself, and that’s the ticket to her promised success.
