10 Questions With little luna [Q&A]

Nothing is little about little luna’s latest EP whenever we get to wherever we’re going, which is a big bold journey into luscious songs, rich melodies and sonic sweetness. The natural, flower like energy of little luna’s sound folds easily into this seven track effort, filled with clever writing, shifting melodic settings, it really does feel like a walk through a wondrous garden. Wanting to know more about this project and more, we caught up with this LA based singer over some words:

1.Who is “little luna”?

little luna is a me but also beyond me. it's window's down warm breeze freedom with a safety for all humans. it's power to women. it's connection to your truest self.

2. What is whenever we get to wherever we’re going all about?

exactly like what it sounds like... existential questioning paired with the acceptance, and perhaps even joy, of being in the moment that's in front of you. it's the drive to want to understand everything, only to realize the more you learn the less everything makes sense. it ranges from guttural cries for world peace, to lustful late night dance tracks.

3. Are you really a "wildflower woman"?

HAHA, I am a wildflower woman. the definition is different for everyone, but for me it means being resilient, without being hardened by this harsh and often cruel world.

4. Any collaborators on this EP? Who produced the EP?

every single song is a different combination of songwriters, producers, and mixers. as an indie artist working 3 jobs to make this art come to life, I have yet to have the ability to just sit down and write one body of work with a few people. the art always unravels over time, in between responsibilities, and without too much preciousness of cohesion. my words, and my voice, are usually the only thurlines in my work.

5. Describe your music as color / activity / place.

my music is a butter cup yellow, open road, that makes a lump grow in your throat bc you know you're going to be okay

6. Besides this excellent EP what else should we be on the lookout for?

thank you for the compliment, THIS IS IT BABY. 2+ years of my life, plus the LA and NYC shows soon. i have no idea what's coming next, but I am hoping for a continuation of this EP.

7.  Take us on a perfect date: where do we go? What do we do?

my perfect date starts with a morning yoga/pilates class, diner breakfast, home for showers & fit check, incredible matcha, a museum or botanical gardens, Kazu Nori, and a movie night. ideally a film in theaters, but I love movies so much, I'll watch them anywhere, anytime.

8. Whats inspiring you right now outside of music?

this is so annoying but everything inspires me. the way a branch blows in the breeze, girlfriends yapping on the street, a new candle scent, two people in love, blasting music with the windows down, a blue hour walk, an intentional meal, being alive.

9.  Food group / activity best suited to enjoying your work?

laying in the grass looking up at the sky.

10. Musically who is new but making all the right moves? Who are your current OnesToWatch?

i'm lucky enough to say my OnesToWatch are my friends; Polyglam. they just got back from touring with Franklin Jonas and are so cool and weird that unfortunately I cannot describe them accurately, you'll just have to go listen.
