The Aces continue to shine in latest single “Twin Flame”

The Aces continue to tease their upcoming album, Gold Star Baby, with their latest single, “Twin Flame.” The upbeat disco pop single dives into the complex feelings of holding on to something you should probably let go of.

Opening with the chorus, the back and forth feelings are immediately made clear with the lyrics “I can’t put out our twin flame / Cause nothing else has felt the same, oh no / I can’t put out our twin flame / Our connection puts the new ones to shame, oh no” As the song continues, The Aces take listeners on an all too familiar post breakup journey, from seeing a psychic who doesn’t tell you what you want to hear, to dating a new person, but all your friends tell you they look just like your ex. The song’s final words, sung in Spanish, are all the unanswered questions left after a breakup with The Aces almost desperately asking “Por qué mi amor? / Por qué me das dolor? / Am I delusional? / Por qué mi amor?”

Speaking on the song The Aces shared, “This song also has a strong Latin influence from the guitar line to the bridge in Spanish. With half of us being Latina, we really wanted to express that part of who we are through this song.” The strong Latin influence combined with the infectious disco pop rhythms and synths make it impossible not to dance along to “Twin Flame”. The Latin and disco pop instrumentation and candid lyrics perfectly capture the conflicting feelings of wanting to hold on to all the good from your previous relationship while conveniently forgetting the bad.

The rest of 2025 is set to be a whirlwind for The Aces. In addition to the release of Gold Star Baby, the band will be hitting the road on their Gold Star Baby World Tour. Starting with festival performances at All Things Go NYC and DC, the band will then continue playing shows throughout the US before heading overseas in February 2026 for the UK/EU leg of the tour. If “Twin Flame” is any indication, these shows are sure to be full of fun and sweaty, carefree dancing.
