Tommy Newport and Jazz Cartier Have Hit the “Jackpot”

Tommy Newport continues to reaffirm his status as a blazing indie rock force with each new single. The acclaimed multidisciplinary artist is now taking his catalog to new heights, in collaboration with Juno Award-winning rap legend Jazz Cartier. Their latest single “Jackpot” highlights euphoria at its finest, with a unison of exceptional musicality and faultless versatility.

As the duo bridges genres and musical capability alike, their admirable talent infiltrates every second of their latest offering. Newport explains, "Jazz was there for my first show ever at the Fonda in LA and was introduced to me by 4th Pyramid from day 1 so it felt like creating something together has been in the books for a while. I've always loved the idea of merging indie/rock and rap ever since hearing Mark Ronson pairing Action Bronson and Dan Auerbach together in 2016. 4th brought the vibes to the studio with a drum pattern that got the guitar in my hands and thinking of progressions, while Jazz was writing his lyrics. It all came together quickly and felt great!”

As Newport’s distinguished falsetto rises atop funky rhythms, cascading choruses, and a truly melodious backing, “Jackpot” comes alive to create a trailblazer of a tune. As their lyricism touches upon a parallelled relationship with Los Angeles and the unwavering luck it takes to keep that relationship ignited, Newport and Cartier’s harmony proves that there are no limits to their creativity.
