With four members that speak three languages, Seoul-based Japanese girl group cosmosy is bringing their global concept to the world. Since debuting in April 2025 with their song “zigy=zigy,” the group has carved out a lane for themselves. Blending J-R&B, J-hip-hop, house, and futuristic sounds through their music, cosmosy also sings in English, Japanese, and Korean interchangeably. While their music does touch upon what it’s like when you fail to control love, their artistry also acts as a pathway for the group to break boundaries and bridge cultures. Following their inaugural KCON LA performance, we spoke to members a'mei, kamión, himesha and de_hana about their global concept, IShowSpeed, and their love for their fans, eye=sy.

OnesToWatch: In your own words, who is cosmosy?

himesha: We are a girl group made up of all Japanese members who train in Korea and now are very active in [the] K-pop scene. Our name cosmosy comes from “COSMOS of Youth.” The cosmos was the first flower in the universe, so like the flower, we want to grow together and share our name with the world.

What does it mean to you to bring your global concept to a global audience?

kamión: For us, it’s about breaking boundaries through music. As Japanese members singing in Korean, Japanese, and English, we want to bring different cultures together and create music that anyone, anywhere can connect with.

You taught a dance workshop at Anime Expo in LA this summer, marking your second time at the convention. What is it like meeting your fans in the United States?

de_hana: When I first came to LA, I was so surprised and happy to meet LA eye=sy, and they gave me power and energy while I performed. I really love you guys!

You just made your KCON debut at KCON LA, congratulations! What was a highlight?

a’mei: I was so happy to perform at KCON LA for the first time, and the biggest highlight was the Toyota Music Den Stage. The stage was really fun, and we also performed a special cover of BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That.” We really love BLACKPINK so much, so I was so happy to show everyone our performance. The energy at KCON was really amazing and crazy, so we really wanna come back to KCON again.

kamión: The cosmosy booth was a great memory for us because we got to interact with LA eye=sy in person. We took selfies together, did a high five event, and played games. It was really fun, and we were so happy to feel LA eye=sy’s amazing support and energy up close.

Now over one year since your debut in April 2025, what is something that you have learned as cosmosy, and what can eye=sy look forward to? 

kamión: Being an idol taught me the importance of hard work and to never give up. I feel that every day of practice and every experience helps me grow. For our fans, we will have many chances to meet this year, so I hope you’re excited.

What cosmosy song would you recommend to a new fan? 

a’mei: I recommend “zigy=zigy,” our predebut song. I love the unique and cool vibe and choreography.

de_hana: I recommend “Stay Alive” because it's our first Japanese song. On August 20 we released our music video of “Stay Alive,” so please look forward to it.

himesha: I choose “Lucky=One.” This song is our debut song and we also sing in just English, so I recommend it for all the global fans.

kamión: I choose “Paradise ~ I need you.” In the song, I use a sweet and soft voice, and I really like these vibes. If you have enough time, please watch our “Paradise” music video too!

Who are your OnesToWatch?

de_hana: IShowSpeed. I watched his World Cup performance, and it was so amazing. After that, I listened to a lot of his songs and I added his songs to [my] playlist. Yes, so good. 

a’mei: She's already famous, but I love Doechii because I love her voice and rap.
