WATCH: The Barbarians Of California Erupt For New 'Something Loud' Session [EXCLUSIVE] | THE NOISE

Forget everything you know about Awolnation for a minute. Yes, the artist famously known for the RIAA diamond-certified mega-hit “Sail.” Okay now, while you’re at it, go ahead and just forget everything you know about anything because it’s time to buckle up for a sonic exploration courtesy of the new noisemakers The Barbarians of California — yes, featuring Awolnation’s Aaron Bruno at the helm.

Alongside longtime Awol collaborator and producer Eric Stenman (Senses Fail, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice), The Barbarians Of California are a chaotic concoction of old-school-hardcore-meets-modern-day-metalcore melting into the perfect blend of all your favorite heavy artists.

As Bruno describes the band, “If you grew up loving Minor Threat or Dead Kennedys, it’s in there,” he said. “My first show was Bad Religion. We love Strife and Undertow. We also love Pantera, Slayer, and Iron Maiden.”

Today, to help give viewers a taste of the band’s hard-hitting debut album And Now I’m Just Gnashing My Teeth, the SoCal outfit has teamed up with The Noise for their first-ever live performance, taking part in our Something Loud series

To check out the rowdy performance accompanied by Bruno and Stenman discussing the group's formation, be sure to see below. Afterward, for more from the band — including tickets to their debut show October 19th at the Troubadour — head here.
