LA-based Zoe Ko returns with an absolute banger with the release of her latest single, "Lucky." Pulling inspiration from pop icons like Britney Spears, Rhianna, and No Doubt era Gwen Stefani, the native New Yorker continues to highlight the female experience on her latest alt-rock-tinged single and explores themes of authenticity and empowerment.

Oozing with seductive confidence, Ko narrates a night on the town, detailing how she deals with unwanted attention from skeezy individuals. Clubby beats, cheeky lyrics, and edgy guitar riffs intermingle with the booming bass as she laughs in the faces of entitled numskulls, serenading, "You think that you’re getting lucky/ I think that it’s hella funny."

Ko details, “I wrote ‘Lucky’ the day after a boy pissed me off while I was out with my friends… And instead of getting super pressed or upset over this happening, sometimes you just have to laugh at these boys who think they really have a chance with you. Because honestly it is hilarious. This song is plain and simple: I know my worth, you want me, but you can’t have me. And the fact that you think you’re getting lucky is hella funny.”

The new single follows the success of Ko's last single, "Kiss My (Ah)," teasing listeners at the idea of a drool-worthy upcoming body of work. Earlier this month, Ko teamed up with e.l.f cosmetics, penning an original song, "In Love with Me," for Get Ready With Music, The Album, a collection of 13 original songs by emerging artists, bridging the worlds of beauty and music.
