Multi-talented creative BLàœ EYES, also known as Katie Stump, is back with “actually happy," another self-written and self-produced single that dives deep into her raw and innermost emotions.

Heavily influenced by artists like Taylor Swift, Finneas, Sasha Sloan, and Bon Iver, the LA native continues to be an approachable and relatable artist who connects with her fans on a human level due to her natural and infectious energy. From her social media presence on TikTok and Instagram lives to her artist persona, BLàœ EYES gives her fans and new listeners a reason to pay attention and give her intimate music a second listen.

"actually happy” drives home the anthemic message of being fearless and not needing to rely on someone to feel loved and at peace with yourself. “I wrote and produced this song just as I was coming out of a funk that I'd been in for what felt like forever,” says Stump. She explains that right before quarantine she parted ways with a close friend and experienced a massive life transition. That and all the subsequent time stuck inside forced them to confront the sadness and confusion they were feeling. “Then, one day, I woke up and finally felt good about myself again,” continues Stump, “I had no idea what to think about it - that's the day I made this song.”

There is an undeniable, glowing energy that flows throughout the single. The track inspires the kind of euphoria one feels when they leave the house for the first time after a long winter. “actually happy” lets listeners experience BLàœ EYES' emotional depth and timeless melodies while feeling connected to her story in an engaging way. The song concludes with the powerful lyrics, “And it feels so good. Oh, I got a little off track but I made it back, and it feels so good. Oh yeah, after everything, I’m me again, and I’m actually happy.”
