Phil Good Interpretive Dances in Concrete Shoes in  "Do You Ever?" Video [Premiere]

Phil Good is certainly not here to mess around. His vast taste in genres spans from the heavy metal angst of Slipknot to the heartfelt vocals of John Mayer. The Portland native took it upon himself to hone his acoustic guitar and analog synth skills only to take a year off from music to work at a grilled cheese truck. Now living in Los Angeles, Good continues to find himself through his musical craft–as he does in his moving new single, "Do You Ever?"

On "Do You Ever?," Phil Good exclusively shared with us,

"'Do You Ever' started as mumbles. I sang, 'Do you ever wanna run away,' over and over, and that's all I had for a few months. At the time, I was feeling very lost, stuck, and unsure of my place in the world. Modern life is confusing and weird, and I often question whether I should just go live in the middle of nowhere where stress and earthquakes won't kill me. But then I write a song like this and remember that music and words are powerful, and running away isn't the answer."

Although it may seem daunting to face our problems head-on, Good grants us the power and courage to push through whatever stands in our way with his motivational lyricism in "Do You Ever?" If Good's remarkable ear for tasteful synths is not enough to get you hooked, the accompanying visual will surely do the trick. The no-frills music video features Good dancing in concrete shoes with a basic backdrop behind to highlight Good's interpretive dance moves.

Phil Good continued,

"I wanted to do a simple performance video. After a few conversations with my friend/creative director, Spencer Graves, we landed on the idea of performing while stuck in one place. I love the idea of not being able to go anywhere or escape, but trying to make the best of it. The concrete shoes represent that perfectly."
