Though it may be too early to tell, 2022 seems set on being the year of unholy musical collaborations. Between Lil Uzi, PinkPantheress, Mura Masa, and Shygirl joining forces on "bbycakes," Johan Lenox and RMR collaborating on "Nobody Gets Me", and even BEAM and Valee linking up for “Hi Tech,” 2022 seems to be a year with near-limitless collaborative potential - and the fun doesn't stop there.

Bridging the gap between hip-hop, electronic, and emo-pop, the stars quite literally unite today on "Mental," the newest release from Chicago producer Whethan. Alongside Field Trip's Slump6s and Gen Z hyperpop wunderkind glaive, Whethan proves that risk-taking pays off on his newest genre-blurring banger. Serving as a harbinger for Whethan's upcoming project, "Mental" is an iconoclastic and forward-thinking heater from three of music's most promising stars.

Over a booming hyperpop mix, fans are treated to a heavy dose of carefully crafted melodies from Slump6s and a performance from glaive that borders on pop-punk in all the best ways. Released alongside a visual that can only be described as akin to watching 2001: A Space Odyssey while tripping on acid, "Mental" is sure to be the high-octane energy that your spring playlist desperately needs.
