The Hellp Promise Yet Another Year of Technicolor Electroclash With "Hazel"

Borderline synesthetic, “Hazel” is an immersive thrill ride through the world The Hellp has been building since their 2021 debut, promising another year of electroclash takeover.

Staying relatively offline and away, The Hellp is unknowable. It is only through their music that we begin to peer into their world of synthesizers and humble debauchery. With a hugely anticipated DJ set during Coachella weekend two, many have thirsted for something new from the duo, an initiation of their next era since 2024’s applauded LL.

Euphoric and awe-inducing, there is no part of the brain left unscratched on “Hazel.” Their grand return is marked by an explosive single that elevates you ten feet off the ground. “You’re so high you won’t / Say hello, hello to the ceiling,” closes the chorus, an invitation to relinquish the anchoring of your bones.

The Hellp’s frenetic chaos is electrifying, only furthered by “Hazel,” which will surely translate once it infects live crowds. Their unwavering devotion to authenticity and resurrecting a dying dance pop industry is their superpower. There’s no other artist dishing what The Hellp has mastered, a futuristic homage to a kinetic past. With global festivals and DJ sets scheduled all throughout the upcoming summer, 2025 just got a lot more technicolored.
