Aja Maria Lets Passion Rule Her Heart in Sultry R&B Anthem "Congratulations"

Aja Maria isn't the type of artist who has to rely on gimmicks or stunts to capture your attention. She is fiercely magnetic and effortlessly present at the center of her art. From her Broadway debut at twelve to her burgeoning career as a new classic voice in R&B, performing is second nature to Aja Maria. Her new single, "Congratulations,"celebrates the serendipity of a fate that always finds us. It's about a love that comes back around like good karma or a planetary orbit. Aja Maria reminds us that certain things in life are as destined as the gravity that holds us down.

"Congratulations" mesmerizes with intoxicating synths, honeyed chords of bass, and rooted percussion. Aja Maria croons, "Congratulations, oh baby, you done made it back to the finish line / It's so amazing, we found a new way to make me fall in love again." Over saturated grooves, Aja Maria's vocal breaks through the surface with fiery passion that melts right into charisma.

Revealing more on her track, Aja Maria admits, "It's the victory lap of love. The kind that once ran, but feels destined to return. It holds a hopeful, optimistic belief that what’s meant for you will find its way back, stronger and ready to be chosen again." Falling in love should be a celebration. Aja Maria taps into the universal urge to show it off when we find a connection that clicks.

Aja Maria is a Baltimore-based artist inspired by a pantheon of musicians among the likes of Anita Baker, Brandy, Sade, and Tank. "Congratulations" was produced by King Midas who has previously worked with Teyana Taylor and Justin Bieber. King Midas is also the producer behind Aja Maria's highly anticipated debut album. The work that Aja Maria has devoted her life to pursuing is beginning to take shape in her confident collection of music. It might be early, but Aja Maria is undoubtedly an artist to watch, even if only because we can't take our eyes off her.
