Arcadia Grey Releases Fiery Ode To Shitty Roomies Ahead Of Sophomore LP | THE NOISE

Chicago-based three-piece Arcadia Grey, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Coraline Kunda (she/her), bassist/vocalist Nat Breeden (they/them), and drummer Cooper Burton (he/they), have released the lead single, "Kevin Pickles & the Great Pool Noodle Excursion," from their forthcoming sophomore album, Casually Crashing, out on May 10. The track is a candid ode to shitty roommates, the frustrating life deals out, and learning to "speak with our words."

The single captures the frustration that can eat you up inside with its racing vocals and cathartic screams that bring the listener near the point of no return. Through the hook, we're teased with the idea of being brought back to earth, "Now we're screaming/ casually crashing/ swerving/ avoiding the wreckage/ I'm making mistakes again/ We're casually crashing with all of our friends."

The accompanying music video is a humourous visual that captures the mundanity and absurdity of a house full of roommates' everyday lives. Mirroring the frustration in the lyrics, the video cuts to scenes of the band giving a passionate performance in the house's basement that matches the high-octane, balls-to-the-wall energy of the fierce and fun single.

Throughout the band's upcoming record, Casually Crashing, they deliver anthem after anthem about getting through the most painful parts of becoming human with humor, friendship, and moshpit-worthy breakdowns. The body of work hardly ever catches its breath, and listeners can't help but scream along with them as the cymbal crashes descend into madness.
