Artemas Expands on His Intoxicating, Inescapable Sound With 'pretty'

Alongside his viral hit single “if u think i’m pretty,” rising UK grunge-alt star Artemas is offering his veins wide open with nine brand new tracks that have been itching to meet the world.

pretty is a slow descent into madness. Carried by a hypnotic blend of pulsing 808s and a confrontation with coping, Artemas is raw and dichotomous in the most alluring way possible. Within company he is alone, feeling everything and offering nothing but a numb stare. The 13-track project wasn’t finalized until the 25th of January and arrived only two short weeks later, bleeding with freshly produced tracks that speak to the artists’ eclectic musicality and scattered state of mind.

“breath away” is pretty’s lead single, and understandably so. It honors all of Artemas’ strengths, from an immersive soundscape to a story told of sensual tension and tug of war. Unsurprisingly, though, the project features many other superstars and virtually no skips. A deeply moody standout is “please don’t humble me,” a powerful reckoning for one's own soul as Artemas pleads for the mercy of his own karma.

With his viral single ranking in over 50 million Spotify streams and landing a feature on Zane Lowe and Jeremy Degan’s 24 for 24, this is undeniably Artemas’ year. Those already enslaved to his signature scent have only locked in deeper, while he continues to intoxicate a whole new crowd.
