Bailey Spinn's "fear of going out" Is A High-Voltage Social Anxiety Anthem

Rising artist Bailey Spinn's latest single, "fear of going out," takes the universal spiral of overthinking and anxiety and flips it into a high-voltage anthem that's equal parts chaos and catharsis. With heavy guitars, sharp honesty, and the kind of relatability that hits like a gut punch, she channels the inner monologue of a generation caught between craving connection and needing space.

The track opens with slick percussion rhythms and distorted guitar arpeggios. At the same time, Spinn's soft vocals float above the distortion, painting a picture of the anxiety about socializing and leaving our creature comforts. She sings, "Everything's too loud / Better be good if I'm leaving my house so I'm staying inside / I'll get super high and probably cry on my couch / And I think it's an issue / That I'd rather be here than be with you." The instruments and distortion are stripped back to chugging bass and Spinn's clear vocal tone as the anticipation of the drop settles in. Met with a percussive cymbal-heavy rock beat and soaring vocals from Bailey, the chorus is a head-banging, sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-lungs anthem.

"My new single 'fear of going out' is about feeling like you don't fit in when going out, and wanting to stay inside, alone," the artist shared in a statement. "It is an introverted anthem for those who enjoy a quiet night in their house doing something they love."

The accompanying music video, directed by Jake The Shooter, is an energetic visual that brings Spinn's vision and introverted ethos to life. The video follows the singer-songwriter, capturing a sense of freedom as she dances in her own space, carefree and unbothered.

The single follows the success of Spinn's debut album, loser, a bold collection of Y2K-inspired rock anthems about heartbreak, individuality, and empowerment. Outside of the studio, she has been building her reputation as a force to be reckoned with on stage. A highlight came with her headline performances nationwide, where she won over crowds with her electrifying stage presence.
