berryblue Bursts Onto the Scene With 'Uh Oh'

A follow-up to the flirty and saccharine GOT ME LIKE, berryblue’s Uh Oh sees the Dallas native come into her own with a sultry, futuristic sound that elevates the 12-track project. Known best as Blue to her fans, berryblue, a gifted producer, pairs sharp and witty lyricism with a soundscape that captures the audience’s attention from the first beat.

“Inside Out” opens the project, and is a mesmerizing fusion that pairs Blue’s silken vocals with a resonant soundscape that evokes the charm of bubblegum pop reimagined with a modern edge. The opener, like the rest of the project, is infectious, cool, and ready to burst.

The album’s titular track “Uh Oh” helps usher in the universe Blue is creating with a glistening melody and a catchy opening that hooks the listener. “Uh Oh / I think there’s something wrong inside my mind when I see ya / I wonder if it’s something that I’m losing track of time,” she sings, delving into the inner monologue many of us with butterflies can painfully relate to, even to the point of feeling outside of ourselves when we’re around that special someone. “Baby I adore you / I’m feeling side effects, my mind isn’t cooperating / Think I’ve been possessed.”

A highlight of the project, “Enjoy Yourself” flips “Uh Oh" on its head and dismisses the spiral-heavy, inner monologue of the previous track in a way that feels like a conversation. Hitting at under three minutes, “Enjoy Yourself” is a sleek, synthy anthemic push to live in the moment. With a delivery that is confrontational, but also encouraging, berryblue sings, “I see you always waiting / Aren’t you getting impatient? / Make it just make sense baby / Pull yourself together.” She hits the subject of the track on the head shortly after, “I’m looking back at the scene / Can you pull yourself together / To enjoy yourself / Cause why you keep waiting,” pushing on the consequences of letting time just fly by without making a change to the environment around you.

Uh Oh is berryblue at her absolute best, and it's a captivating display of her talent. Truly buzzing with excitement, this project has us anticipating what the rising star will create next.
