BIZZY Gets a Taste of Her Own Medicine "Tastes Like Shit"

Pop rock singer-songwriter BIZZY continues to write straight from the heart in her gritty new single, “Tastes Like Shit”—a self-realization anthem full of personality and power. Following two singles released this year, “Default Setting” and “When It Ends,” listening to BIZZY’s confessional lyrics feels like reading a page out of her own diary. In this newest offering from the rising star, she’s taking accountability for being careless in love.

On writing “Tastes Like Shit,” BIZZY admits, “This song is me realizing I’ve been the bad guy before,” In this pop-rock banger, BIZZY uses her newly broken heart to reflect on how she’s hurt others in the past. She sings of past lovers (and names them) who she didn’t give the time of day and realizes how much it hurts after walking in their shoes. The track is extremely self-aware but stays lighthearted in its delivery. BIZZY’s distinctly powerful vocals shine as she sings the clever title lyric, “I got a taste of my own medicine / And it tastes like shit.”

This track is a sonic blast from the past, in the best way. The descending melody in the chorus evokes an early 2000s sound of nostalgia, a disappointment that doesn’t feel heavy but freeing. The lyrics are straightforward, playing on concepts like karma and realizing you’re not exempt from its effects. Although BIZZY is honest in her songwriting, there’s a silliness that makes the song fun, oozing with personality and replay value.

“Tastes Like Shit” shows yet another side to BIZZY’s dynamic songwriting perspective and strong sound. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this budding star.
