Brenn! Tells a Stirring Story Wrapped in Regret in "Franklin House"

Rising folk-pop star Brenn! knows how to pour his heart out, and does so once again in his latest release “Franklin House.” The new single from the 20-year-old rising star reflects on the pain he caused a loved one and in turn, the pain he experienced from losing them. In the first verse, Brenn! gives listeners a glimpse into his anger and frustration, singing, “I've got words to get out / but they'll send me to Hell.” He then continues, singing directly to his loved one telling them, “I bet you're drunk at the Franklin / blowin' off all that grief that I gave you.”

As the song continues, Brenn! moves away from his anger, grief, and pain, and guilt becomes the main focus. Brenn! opens the pre-chorus singing, “I will survive / But I’ll never recover” and ends it by reassuring his loved one, “I’m not mad at you.” The chorus puts Brenn!’s guilt on full display with the lyrics, “I thought I could change you for better / All I did was break you forever / You needed saving / and I couldn't save you this time / All I did was break you forever.” The vulnerable lyrics are accompanied by a classic folk guitar and as the song builds, banjo, strings, drums, and layered vocals are added to the mix. The additional instruments add depth to the single, and help build its intensity. Listeners can feel Brenn!’s pain and guilt not just through the lyrics but through the instrumentation as well.

“Franklin House” marks Brenn!’s first release of 2025, a year that is set to be a busy one. The singer is hitting the road for five weeks, starting in March, and will visit 24 cities on his 'Days on End Tour.' We can’t wait to see what else 2025 has in store for Brenn!
