Paris-based songwriter, artist, and producer Broken Back is chasing his 2019 single  "Young Love" with an acoustic version made into a colorful short film. Co-directed by Broken Back and Yvan Cahagne, the live video is shrouded in a mustard yellow, showcasing Broken Back and his backup band as they play through the song with cheerful whimsy. After debuting in 2015 with his EP Dear Misfortune, Mother of Joy, he has slowly but surely gathered an impressive fanbase with his distinctly husky vocals and millions of streams across platforms. He's been busy performing for the past two years, 250 shows-busy to be exact, but he still found some time to release some striking video content.

The song itself showcases Broken Back's unique blend of styles, with touches of French flair and African beats. The full-fledged music video has a Wes Anderson feel, capturing humorous double takes and an absurd series of events through a dreamy lens. The acoustic version is stripped back but portrays Broken Back's zany sense of humor just the same.

Though the live session is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, they even managed to fit a cactus into the corner of the shot, Broken Back's powerfully raw vocals soar to the forefront of the video. He comments on the absurdity behind the acoustic music video, sharing,

"The talking at the end of the video is an absurd discussion in French. It's one of these moments when we just talk nonsense, letting go of the little crazy part of us that whispers to our ears. It also announces the upcoming video for the song 'She falls.' That will be in a totally different color…“

We're eager to find out what color is coming next. If you happen to be in France, you can check Broken Back out at one of his upcoming shows.
