CARR Releases Cathartic "Bang It Out" Ahead Of Upcoming LP | THE NOISE

Alt-pop provocateur CARR returns with her most visceral release yet. Her new single, “Bang It Out,” is a kinetic, guitar-driven rush that pairs crunchy riffs with a massive, shout-along chorus, creating a song that is equal parts catharsis and confrontation. From the first riff, CARR makes it clear she isn’t here to tiptoe around feelings.

The single is a belter in every sense, capturing the raw emotional fallout of a relationship that has burned through its last conversation. With lyrics such as “We’ve said every single word there is to say out loud / Maybe we should just bang it out,” CARR reveals the complex and often messy intersection of desire, frustration, and intimacy. It’s more than a breakup song; it’s a complex exploration of how humans deal with the complexities of desire when words are no longer an option, and all that is left is the physical.

“‘Bang It Out’ captures the moment a relationship runs out of words, meaning, and emotional intimacy,” CARR explains. “When there’s nothing left to resolve and what remains is only a physical connection — so you’re left using touch to fill the silence where communication and love used to be.” And she delivers this story with the sonic confidence that has become her signature, blended with punchy guitars, propulsive drums, and anthemic vocal lines that demand to be shouted along to.

The track’s energy is both reckless and precise. In the verses, CARR sketches characters with sharp, almost cinematic detail, “People-pleaser, soul eater / They only cared about you when you were a teenager,” while the chorus detonates with liberating abandon. There is a raw, unbridled honesty in the way she combines aggressive lyrics with catchy melodies that prove vulnerability and aggression are not mutually exclusive.

Set to appear on her forthcoming full-length album, CARRGIRRL, out March 20, “Bang It Out” offers a tantalizing glimpse of what’s coming: an album brimming with pop hooks, rock energy, and an emotional truth that is loud, messy, and impossible to ignore. CARR is here, and she’s unapologetically herself, crafting music that doesn’t just get stuck in your head, but burrows into your chest. The rising star will be joining legendary alt band The Cab on their US tour, jumping on the route on June 6 in Portland, OR and journeying with them throughout the summer.
