Carter Vail Gives His Ex Their Just Desserts On Latest Single, "Baked Alaska"

LA-based artist Carter Vail is back with his exciting new single, "Baked Alaska. " This catchy breakup anthem showcases his unique sound. With Vail's bratty vocals at the forefront paired with ambient synths and a syncopated bass line, it’s sure to get fans singing along at his high-energy shows.

The single is equal parts vindictive and goofy as he narrates the aftermath of a relationship coming to an end. With the love goggles off, he realizes his sticky situation, singing, "But last night, I swear/ It would be the last night I’m there/ Here I am again so no fair/ Someone’s gotta lose." Waking up from a poison that felt like the cure, he launches into an irreverent, no-holds-barred chorus, telling his ex to miss him with their bullshit.

“I wrote ‘Baked Alaska’ with my friend Reed Gaines about the aftermath of a breakup,” shared Vail in a statement. “I played all the instruments because Reed was very hungover that morning. What we made is maybe my favorite song I’ve made so far.”

His virality and the blooming success of his new music, “Baked Alaska,” further cements his reputation as an innovative and whimsical talent to watch in the pop world. Since the beginning of the fall, he’s been on the road supporting Yung Gravy and will continue throughout the rest of his Grits & Gravy Tour this year. He’ll also join Quinn XCII for a three-show run next month before heading out on his first-ever headline tour in November, which includes stops in New York, Philadelphia, and more before concluding in Nashville on December 4.
