Chappell Roan Is Unapologetically "HOT TO GO!"

Hot off the heels of her debut album announcement, Chappell Roan is rallying the troops in her new single “HOT TO GO!.” The cheer-inspired track first debuted at Roan’s live shows in 2022, where she taught audiences the easily mastered choreography, and is now available in all its studio-recorded glory. Partnering once again with longtime collaborator Dan Nigro, the two capture that lighting-in-a-bottle energy from the live shows and deliver a track that leaves listeners with no choice but to join in on the fun.

Roan will never shy away from committing to a theme and that dedication shines in “HOT TO GO!,” an ode to feeling hot and claiming it wholeheartedly. She even explicitly admits to making the song as a seduction tactic and further executes it with high-spirited vocal delivery and cheeky ad-libs. This self-love is then transferred to the audience in the chorus, when Roan teaches us how to also feel sexy and ready to show it off. Not only is she living out her self-proclaimed “cheerleader fantasy,” the audience is invited to partake as well. Every aspect of the track, from the lyrics to the production to the tangible energy seeping through every second, is a joyous celebration of self-love and pure, old-fashioned fun.

The “HOT TO GO!” music video reflects this unbridled joy but with a personal twist. The video takes place in Roan’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri, featuring hometown hotspots, picturesque farmland shots, a monster truck rally, and even Chappell’s grandparents learning the choreography. It’s a snapshot of the rising star’s past and present lives, granting fans a deeper look into where she came from and how it impacts her artistry today. Roan also continues her honored tradition of including drag queens in her performances, featuring local queens from her Missouri. It’s a unique video full of love, which seeps through the vibrant visuals and alluring performance from Chappell as she parades around her hometown with a newfound sense of self.

Now that “HOT TO GO!” has arrived, there are only five tracks left to be heard from Roan’s debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, out September 22. With an album full of smash hits, Roan is sure to make an impact. Her creativity and passion for all forms of self-expression, from music to makeup to creating her own looks, has built a world in which fans are ready to embrace with their whole hearts.
