Charlotte Sands Is Done Sleeping With “One Eye Open” On Empowering New Single | THE NOISE

Following a string of bold anthems like “HUSH,” “Afterlife,” and “neckdeep,” alt-pop powerhouse Charlotte Sands returns with a hard-hitting new track, “one eye open.” The single is a raw and cathartic offering that sees Sands explore the moment you choose peace over chaos, making it an empowering addition to her incredible and growing discography.

The track opens with ghostly vocals before hitting hard with explosive, metal-infused percussion. She weaves her signature mix of emotional intensity, hook-heavy choruses, and fearless honesty as she dives deep into the reckoning that love shouldn’t feel like a matter of survival. She pours out her heart and soul to the listener as she comes to realize that feeling this panic with your partner isn’t normal and sleeping with “one eye open” isn’t love, but perhaps something much more harmful altogether.

“‘one eye open’ is about learning that love isn’t supposed to feel like survival,” she shares. “It’s the realization you’ve been mistaking control for care and the breaking point that forces you to remove yourself from their grip and remember who you were before they made you doubt it. This song is about taking your power back and choosing your own peace over their chaos. I hope it gives you the strength to put yourself first and serves as a reminder of just how capable you really are.”

The single will feature on her forthcoming album, Satellite, out March 6. In the body of work, she pushes her alt-pop sound even further, weaving together soaring melodies, razor-sharp lyrics, and punchy production. “Satellite was born from a search for meaning, identity, and self-worth,” she says. “It’s a collection of moments from the last two years of my life—the highs and lows, the joy and the grief. It’s about drifting, discovering, questioning your purpose, and learning to trust the quiet pull that brings you back to yourself.”
