Melodic hip hop has undergone huge changes this past decade. From Kid Cudi to A Boogie, this style of rap has dominated the mainstream and influenced this new generation of artists.

The newest artist in this space, Dro Kenji, takes note of his influences, but in a new and refreshing direction. The crazy vocal inflections and rebellious attitude make the South Carolina native a captivating listen. His newest single  "Codeine Punch" shows what makes him stand out.

"Codeine Punch" is produced by Internet Money veterans, Nick Mira, Pharaoh Vice, and Nash Beats. The track has a hard-hitting trap instrumental with a driving piano melody similar to one that Trippie Redd or the late Juice WRLD would favor. Dro Kenji's yelping high pitched vocals make the track unique and filled with personality.

Dro Kenji's energy on the track met with his smooth and high pitched vocals make him an exciting new addition to the melodic rap scene
