Ellen Krauss Transports Us to a Luxurious Place on  "Bali"

Listening to "Bali" by Ellen Krauss will inevitably take you to a warm and luxurious place. Allow yourself to feel fun and flirty. Let your mind drift away to imagine a romantic, summertime vacation in the tropics. I think we can all appreciate longing to be somewhere other than within the confines of our quarantines.

Ellen Krauss is a 19-year-old, entirely self-taught musician from Sweden. She remembers writing songs in her bedroom in Stockholm, as well as in South Africa where her family occasionally lived. She's inspired by a diverse group of artists such as Ed Sheeran, King Princess, Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen. Now, Krauss flexes receiving praise from musical icons like super producer Max Martin and pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen. Krauss has been awarded the Rookie Artist of the Year at the Denniz Pop Awards in Sweden. Pop stars Tove Lo and Laleh comprise a portion of the voting panel for the award.

So much of Krauss' strength comes from being outspoken about LGBTQ equality, women's rights, and wanting to tear down society's idea of what a young girl is supposed to be. "I want to look at what makes us similar," Krauss says about her music, "and try and bring people together." She successfully manifested this with her debut single and LGBTQ acceptance anthem "The One I Love," which has racked up over 7 million total global streams since its release.

"Bali" manages a wonderfully steamy and soothing tone with an underlying bright and atmospheric beat that locks in so swimmingly. I am sure we can expect to experience more fantasies hearing the rest of Krauss' EP, which will be released this summer.
