Fran Vasilić Plots a Course For Your Chaotic 20s in 'The Very Last Thoughts on Earth'

Your 20s are a period of self-discovery, a time spent figuring out who you are and who you are meant to be. It is not easy piloting your way through what can be a very perplexing period in your life. Yet, there's a simple comfort to be found in realizing it's all about trial and error and simply embracing the mess. Passionate bedroom pop artist Fran Vasilić's EP, The Very Last Thoughts on Earth, focuses on just that, shoveling through the chaos of our early 20s to unveil a reflective body of work.

Opening with “Subject," Vasilić delivers a soothing piece that truly speaks to the saying “ignorance is bliss.” Through delicate, wistful arrangements and soulful vocals, he confesses that he would rather live in a fantasy than face despair. He poignantly sings, “I’d rather be delusional than have a broken heart as usual.” "Might as Well," "Maybe" and "The One About Rejection" takes listeners down a path of learning how to set boundaries. Each is about difficult decision-making and recognizing when it is okay to say no. There is something so powerful in that seemingly simple act.

Vasilić is a Croatian creative known for making music that sweeps you up with endless emotion. His knack for forming a close-knit bond with all who listen has resulted in a growing and loyal fan base. His illuminating indie-pop sound nods to bands like The Strokes and Rex Orange County. The Very Last Thoughts on Earth is a brilliant showing of his unique style and profound messaging. He reveals, "I remember feeling so confused about so many things and thinking that any mistake I make will be 'the end of the world,' and so that's how the title came about."
