Gabi Sklar Falls in Love With "Miami" in Electrifying New Single

Rising pop star Gabi Sklar unveils her magical new single "Miami," a cinematic, emotionally charged ode to the city's intoxicating highs and heartbreaking lows. Unlike a conventional dance record, "Miami" leans into lush instrumentation and cinematic strings with sultry Southern undertones. Its atmospheric production mirrors the experience of a night out, that moment when, a few drinks in, the music hits just right, and suddenly, the night feels infinite, and you feel invincible until you don't.

The single starts as a ballad, opening with a slow, dramatic piano arrangement, ushering in Sklar's soothing, enchanting vocals. She paints a picture of a protagonist who left her heart in Miami, crooning, "There's who you are and who you can be / Fall in and out of fever dreams." The instrumentation takes on a "calm before the storm" air as she describes that in Miami, "Out here everyone's a nobody / And everyone's a star / Ain't nobody care bout who you are," before turning into an absolute club banger and launching the listener into a carefree chorus.

Gabi explains the track's inspiration: "Don't date the DJ and don't get revenge on your ex… instead write a club record so good, every girl everywhere can't help but request it."

The accompanying music video, directed by Sklar, is an equally cinematic visual that perfectly captures the track's free and wild emotions. It follows Sklar as she cruises through the city's neon-lit streets in a sleek blue car, lost in the allure and electric feeling of the night. Footage of her speeding down the highway switches with the scenes of her poolside drinking up every ephemeral moment the city offers her.

Singer-songwriter Gabi Sklar may have found meteoric success by sharing her music online with more than five million engaged fans across social profiles, but her rise started a decade ago. That may be surprising to hear from the born-and-raised New Yorker. Still, in just 25 years, she's gone from playing on her grandmother's hand-me-down piano to collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, like multi-platinum producer Tommy Brown, Anton Göransson, and iconic songwriters like Diane Warren, Isabel Sjöstrand, and Lara Andersson.
