Gilanares Explores Self-Destruction On Stimulating Single "F33D TH3 B3AST"

New York up-and-coming artist Gilanares succumbs to her cravings on her second single, "F33D TH3 B3AST." Fueled with volatile instrumentation and raw, heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics, the young artist bares her soul and teeth on this dopamine-rush-inducing single that explores self-destruction and the need for stimulation.

The track opens with low, angsty guitar riffs filling the space, joined by Gilanares's warm, brooding vocals. She croons into the ether, "It's been a weird month/ Stuck in the space between the bullet and the gun/ But someone's got to pull the trigger/ So should I stay and let the space get bigger?/ Or should I chase what could be too fast for me?" admitting that she is at her limit, but doesn't want to slow down. As explosive percussion and rich bass grooves join the mix, she reveals that she craves the things that could kill her, deriving a sense of pleasure from self-destruction. Recognizing that she has a problem and needs external help, she sings, "I'm getting overwhelmed/ I think the worst part is, I like it/ They make it all so awful/ We pay to numb it out/ We feed the beast, and then we wonder why it's massive now." This narrative of self-destructive behavior and the struggle to break free from it is a poignant reflection of the current societal issues we face, where we often find ourselves trapped in cycles of harmful habits and behaviors.

"I want this song to encourage people to explore their own 'beast," explains Gilanares. "For me, it's the constant craving for stimulation. In a world filled with distractions—I believe we all wrestle with our own versions of this struggle."

The accompanying music video is a dynamic visual that follows the artist through various environments, each representing a different aspect of her struggle. It first opens up in a solitary green room, symbolizing her isolation, and then she is trapped in a computer's desktop screen, representing the overwhelming digital world. She is then transported to the middle of the woods, a serene yet daunting place, where she wanders nature under the light of a setting sun, symbolizing her journey towards self-discovery.

Gilanares delves into the mind's raw and often unspoken experiences through a kaleidoscope of genres, offering an immersive experience that deeply engages with the shared struggles and triumphs of the human condition. Gilanares' introspective lyrics and evocative instrumentals create a world that the listener can step into, finding solace and understanding in the labyrinth of emotions.
