Step aside Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Hinds is the latest femme-focused, all-American rock band. The catch? The women of Hinds are born and raised Spaniards.

Hailing from Madrid, the quartet officially came together in 2014 and released their debut album, Leave Me Alone, in 2015, followed by I Don't Run in 2018. Now, the band is gearing up for their biggest year yet, celebrating the announcement of their third record, The Prettiest Curse, with the declaration of a twenty-one-stop North American tour and the release of their new single, "Good Bad Times."

"Good Bad Times" leads with a strong beat, transitioning into a lyrical symphony. The melody is so dreamy and romantic. It's easy to listen to the whole song and not even really hear the words, because you're wrapped up in the kaleidoscope of sound. If you do get down to the lyrics, you'll hear the ladies touch on getting through difficult times in relationships, particularly when it feels like the two of you are never on the same page. The bilingual chorus is punctuated by the line "Every time you talk to me / I hear you're scared of losing me."

Hinds spoke on the meaning of the song, sharing,

"you know that part in the movies when two people in a relationship are living complete opposite realities? when one thinks everything is great and the other one is about to drown?

'Good Bad Times' is the struggle of communication, time difference, distance. like the two sides of a coin. two sides close together that can't be separated, even though they seem to be completely different."

The band remarked that this track and the rest of the album are a significant departure from their original style; they are continuing to work toward a sound that is not only true to who they are but innovative to the industry. Bassist Ade Martin explained, "When people hear this record I want them to freak out and just go, 'What?'"
